How to deal with office syndrome

Office syndrome 💻 is the condition where ache and lesions exists on muscles or a numb and inflamed feeling on the nerves and joints are present. This condition is prevalent in the new generations as each day we are often sitting down working on a computer with limited movement. Because of this the muscles in such areas are often overworked and tense, which leads to knots and aches. 😫 Although office syndrome can seem harmless, if left untreated can lead to scoliosis, a herniated disc, and even muscle weakness and numbness. 🥶

Stretching and mild exercises can help relieve the discomfort of office syndrome whether it’d be in the neck, shoulder blade, chest, shoulder, arm or abdomen area. So NEXKY is here with 5 moves that can help you relieve the symptoms. 😍

  1. Clasp your hands together in front of your chest and push all the way for 10-20 seconds. Repeat this twice. 
  2. Clasp your hands together above your head, stretch all the way and hold for 10-20 seconds. Repeat twice and this should help with tightness in the upper back and arms.
  3. Stretch your lower back and lift your chest. Hold for 20 seconds and this should help relieve tension in your lower back and chest.
  4. Cross your legs, place your hand on your knees, and twist your torso the opposite way. Hold for 20 seconds and this should relieve tension in the hip.
  5. Cross your arms behind your back, hold your wrist, look down, and turn your neck to the right whilst pulling your left hand to the right. Hold for 10 seconds and repeat twice to help with neck, shoulder, and shoulder blade pain.

These moves should help relieve some pain ☺️ but may only be for a short while. So for a more long-term solution, behaviors would have to be adjusted by not sitting still for too long, stretching, and exercising to increase mobility.
