“Ultra -Processed Food”, many of you may have heard it before. But what exactly it is? And is it harmful to our body? Today, NEXKY is here to share some useful and easy-to-follow facts that will definitely help you be healthier ! ✨💪🏻💖
⚡️💭 “Ultra-Processed Food” or “UPF” is food which has been through extensive processing. To illustrate, it is food which cannot be made at home or has long unrecognizable chemical ingredients. 😱🥫
⚡️💭 Despite its deliciousness and convenience, UPF comes with cons, which are excessive amounts of salt, sugar, and saturated fats to sprinkle flavor and texture. Regular consumption can lead to malfunctioning digestive systems, risk of obesity, diabetes, fatty liver disease, and depression. 🫁🫀💥 — According to Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health Consuming large amounts of UPF, especially food containing artificial sweeteners, can increase risk of developing depression, as artificial sweeteners stimulate Purinergic signaling in the brain. ‼️🧠
⚡️💭 If you still unsure which food is considered UPF? NEXKY is here with lists of some common UPF in daily life, which normally are • Bread 🍞 • Cereal 🥣 • Candy 🍬 • Sausage 🌭 • Instant noodles 🍜 • Seasoning sauce 🥫 • Ice cream 🍦 • Snacks 🥔
⚡️💭 Even though UPF is dangerous in many ways, giving them up entirely is rather tough. Therefore, let’s take a look at the UPF consumption recommendations below. 1️⃣ Reduce consumption, in both amounts and frequency. Focus on whole foods and balanced nutrition based on dietary guidelines. 🥗 2️⃣ Read labels before buying, to consider sugar, fats, and sodium. 🧂✨ 3️⃣ Avoid choosing UPF as a main dish. 🙅🏻♀️🍱 4️⃣ Level up your cooking skill, to reduce reliance on instant foods. 👩🏻🍳🥕
⚡️💭 As NEXKY wants everyone to stay healthy, so don’t forget to take care of your diet. Share your most mistakenly often eaten UPF! 💖😘
